Job description

Our client is a boutique Civil Engineering Consultancy based in Subiaco, with a strong focus on delivering civil design services for land development projects across the Perth metropolitan area.
With a close-knit team of seven staff, they offer a collaborative and hands‑on environment where engineers have genuine involvement across the business and its projects. By way of growth, they are seeking a passionate and ambitious Senior Civil Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career.

About the role:

You will be heavily involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of land development projects, predominantly across the residential and commercial sectors. Working closely with the wider team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to technical outcomes and play an active role in the day‑to‑day operations of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, values being involved from start to finish and wants to make a genuine impact within a growing consultancy.

About You:
  • Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, ideally within land development projects.
  • Experience across residential and/or commercial civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • A passionate, motivated and ambitious approach, with a genuine desire to develop professionally and grow with the business.

On Offer:

  • Highly negotiable salary, dependent on experience.
  • Boutique consultancy environment with minimal bureaucracy and no unnecessary corporate politics.
  • Genuine career progression and the opportunity to grow with the business.
  • Diverse range of residential and commercial land development projects.
  • Hands‑on involvement across projects, with the opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact.
Job Description

We’re looking for a developing civil engineer to support the delivery of site infrastructure design packages across a range of projects. You’ll contribute to stormwater, earthworks and basic water/wastewater designs, coordinate with other disciplines, and build strong technical fundamentals under the guidance of senior engineers.

What you’ll be doing
  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader civil/site infrastructure assignments under moderate supervision, to agreed budget and programme.
  • Gather, interpret and correlate engineering data using established and well‑defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine design tasks involving calculations, modelling and relatively simple tests/checks.
  • Support delivery of key infrastructure elements, including:
    • Stormwater design (pit and pipe layouts, hydraulic checks, minor drainage design)
    • Bulk earthworks support (grading plans, levels coordination, basic cut/fill inputs)
    • Basic water and wastewater infrastructure (reticulation layouts, tie‑ins, design checks)
    • WSUD support where required (e.g., contributing to concept layouts and design documentation).
  • Propose practical approaches to new problems, escalating early where needed and applying learnings from previous tasks.
  • Identify discrepancies in calculations, drawings, models or inputs and raise them promptly for resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders on interfaces (services coordination, site constraints, constructability).
  • Provide day-to-day support and informal guidance to graduates/entry-level engineers (as appropriate).
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years’ post‑graduate experience in civil/site infrastructure design.
  • Exposure to applying Austroads and local council/authority requirements (or a willingness to learn quickly).
  • Developing competency in stormwater (pit and pipe) and familiarity with earthworks and basic water/wastewater design tasks.
  • Interest in WSUD principles and how they integrate with stormwater solutions (a plus).
  • Any exposure to Department of Defence projects is highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Process‑driven and detail‑oriented, with a clear focus on quality, checking and well‑structured deliverables.
  • A collaborative mindset, comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and asking the right questions early.
Benefits
  • Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, job‑sharing and hybrid work options
  • Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year
  • Swap public holidays – swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better
  • Continuous learning and growth - lunch and learns, professional development courses, financial study assistance, 5 days paid study leave, global career opportunities
