Job summary

Publicroles in Melbourne is seeking a Social Worker to join the wellbeing hub at the school. You will be the first point of contact for students seeking wellbeing support, triaging to the appropriate team member, and taking a case management approach with identified students.

You will liaise with teachers, families and external agencies to support social and academic success, deliver intervention programs, counselling, and develop pathways to success, while upholding confidentiality and child

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work and eligibility for AASW membership.
• Ability to liaise with teachers, families and external agencies.
• Experience in youth wellbeing or education sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with external service providers and help teachers, students and families to access these services.
• Monitor the social, emotional, and learning progress of students and provide reports to the wellbeing team and other staff.
• Implement and evaluate intervention programs to support school curriculum and the needs of identified groups of students.
• Provide or facilitate counselling and guidance to students.
• Work with students and their families to develop pathways to success at school.
• Ensure the safety of the young people whilst under their supervision.
• Lead wellbeing activities and supervision of the wellbeing hub.
• Engage young people in activities that are both social and learning opportunities to advance skills.
• Develop links with student support services and relevant agencies to optimise service provision.
