Job summary

Star of the Sea Catholic College, George Town (Tasmania), is seeking a Part Time Student Wellbeing Officer to deliver quality pastoral care and wellbeing support. • Foster cooperation, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
• Provide support or referrals (with Principal approval) during grief, personal challenges or emotional difficulties.
• Communicate student concerns, successes or parental issues to the School Counsellor/Principal.

Student Wellbeing Officer

Part Time | Limited tenure (19th October 2026 to 18th December 2027)

Hours: 11 hours per week

Remuneration: $68,586 pro rata + 12% Superannuation

Essential Requirements

• Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
• National Police Criminal History Check.
• Certificate IV in Counselling (or equivalent).
• Current Tasmanian driver licence.

Desirable

• Experience in the education sector.
• Experience supporting children, young people and families.
• Awareness of issues impacting local youth.
• Protective Handling Practices training.
