Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a Student Support Officer to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in collaboration with our wellbeing team and school counselling service. The role focuses on targeted support for students and whole-school wellbeing initiatives.

The successful candidate will work with external agencies and develop referral pathways for students and families to support services. WWCC clearance and Aboriginal education policy knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• A completed diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline must be attached along with your application.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service.
• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support services.
