Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria is seeking a dedicated Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader to work across a primary school setting, driving wellbeing initiatives and targeted interventions.

You will collaborate with the Principal Class Team, Wellbeing Team and families to coordinate supports, implement SWPBS, and strengthen inclusive practices while supporting positive educational outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of social, emotional, behavioural and wellbeing supports for primary school students.
• Ability to plan and implement individual and small-group interventions.
• Strong organisational, case management and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of inclusive education, Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal support for students facing wellbeing and engagement issues.
• Collaborate with families, staff and external partners to promote positive outcomes.
• Develop and review behavioural support plans and proactive strategies.
• Support mandatory reporting, child safety, and risk management.
• Coordinate Disability Inclusion processes and Student Support Groups.
• Lead wellbeing initiatives and coordinate community programs.
• Promote SWPBS and targeted social-emotional learning interventions.
• Foster a safe, inclusive school environment.
