Job summary

Manningham Council is seeking a Graduate Statutory Planner to join the Statutory Planning team on a full-time basis in Melbourne. You will support service delivery, systems and processes within statutory planning, with a strong focus on learning and development.

Key activities include processing planning applications, preparing reports, contributing to policy development, and providing clear technical advice to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Town Planning completed within the last 2 years.
  • Driver’s licence valid in Victoria.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and processing of a range of planning and subdivision applications, amendments, and time extensions.
  • Prepare clear and concise planning reports and general correspondence in a paperless office.
  • Support the development of policies, processes and procedures within the planning team and other Council teams as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear, concise technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a service culture of excellence, collaboration and accountability.

The opportunity

Working as
part of the Statutory Planning team, the Graduate Statutory Planner is a
full-time, entry-level position centred around supporting the service delivery,
systems, and processes of the Statutory Planning service unit.

Key activities of
this role include:

  • Assessment and processing of a range of
    planning and subdivision applications, amendments, condition 1 plans, secondary
    consents, time extensions, and planning enquiries in accordance with Council’s
    Instrument of Delegation.
  • Prepare clear and concise planning reports
    and general correspondence in a paperless office.
  • Supporting the development of policies,
    processes and procedures within the planning team and other Council teams as
    required.
  • Providing excellent customer service and
    clear
    and concise technical advice to all stakeholders.
  • Contributing to a service culture of
    excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

About you

You
have completed a tertiary degree in Town Planning within the last 2 years.

Hold a Driver’s licence valid in Victoria.

  • You

    solver with excellent analytical skills and the ability to think
    strategically and develop innovative design solutions.
  • You have excellent
    written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to

    interpersonal skills to respond to challenging situations effectively and
    appropriately, with the ability to successfully negotiate and achieve positive
    planning outcomes.
  • You have well developedorganisational skills to plan, prioritise and
    organise work to meet performance objectives and targets.
  • You are a team player
    with a willingness to contribute and collaborate well with others.
