Job summary

John Paul College in Frankston is seeking a compassionate First Aid Officer to join the Student Services team. The role focuses on frontline healthcare, managing student medical plans, and responding to health needs in a busy secondary school environment.

The successful candidate will provide a calm, professional service to students, families and staff, support immunisation programs, and help ensure a safe, healthy school community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a health, nursing, first aid or similar role.
• Provide First Aid HLTAID011 and CPR certifications.
• Experience responding to medical incidents in a school setting.
• Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote and Teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of first aid care and respond appropriately to student illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies.
• Coordinate and maintain student medical management plans, health care plans and medical alerts.
• Liaise with parents, guardians, staff and medical professionals regarding student health.
• Support students with chronic and complex health needs, including asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes and other medical conditions.
• Coordinate health and medical requirements for camps, excursions and College events.
• Maintain medical records, medication registers and confidential health information.
• Monitor and maintain first aid supplies, emergency medications and medical equipment.
• Support student immunisation programs and health promotion initiatives.
• Assist in the delivery of staff first aid, anaphylaxis and health-related training.
• Ensure compliance with all child safety, health and safety requirements.
