Job summary

John Paul College Frankston is seeking a compassionate and organized First Aid Officer to join the Student Services team. The role provides frontline healthcare, coordinates student medical management plans and responds to a wide range of health needs within a busy secondary school environment.

You will maintain a calm, professional Health Centre, liaise with families and staff, and contribute to immunisation programs and health promotion initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in health, nursing, first aid or similar role.
• Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated experience responding to medical incidents and emergencies.
• Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams).
• Demonstrated ability to work with students, families, staff and external health professionals.
• Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse qualifications.
• Experience in a school or youth setting.
• Advanced First Aid qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of first aid care and respond to illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies.
• Coordinate and maintain student medical management plans and health care plans.
• Liaise with parents, guardians, staff and medical professionals regarding student health.
• Support students with chronic health needs, including asthma and anaphylaxis.
• Coordinate health and medical requirements for camps, excursions, and events.
• Maintain medical records, medication registers and confidential health information.
• Monitor and maintain first aid supplies and emergency medications.
• Support immunisation programs and health promotion initiatives.
• Assist in the delivery of staff first aid, anaphylaxis and health-related training.
• Ensure compliance with child safety, health and safety requirements.
