Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Structural/Mechanical to join the HATS program in Nowra, NSW. You will provide sustainment engineering support to the EC-135 helicopter fleet and help deliver training for Australian Army and Navy aircrew.

The role requires knowledge of the Australian Defence Force rotary wing environment, structure and capability, and involves collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure airworthiness and compliance with DASR

Qualifications

• Requires aviation engineering qualifications or equivalent experience in a structural/mechanical discipline.
• Experience in aviation maintenance environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support continuing airworthiness of the EC-135 helicopter fleet in a multidisciplinary team.
• Respond to technical queries from maintenance and support staff.
• Perform technical analyses, flight safety reviews, investigations, and develop modifications/repairs for aircraft systems.
• Analyse structural and engine data for the structural integrity program.
• Interpret Technical Information and generate engineering outputs.
• Conduct technical investigations and amendments to aviation publications.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Structural/Mechanical to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program based at HAMS Albatross, Nowra, NSW. In this role, you will provide sustainment engineering support to theEC-135 helicopter fleet, helping deliver the mission of training Australian Army and Navy pilots and aircrew.

The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge and understanding of the Australian Defence Force rotary wing environment, structure, and capability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a collaborative, multi-disciplined team environment to support the continuing airworthiness of the HATS EC-135 helicopter fleet;
• Respond to technical queries raised by maintenance and support staff;
• Conduct technical analysis, flight safety reviews, investigations, and develop modifications and repairs related to aircraft structural, mechanical, and propulsion systems;
• Analyse structural and engine data in support of the structural integrity program;
• Interpret Technical Information (TI) and generate required engineering outputs;
• Conduct technical investigations;
• Assess and amend aviation publications and instructions; and
• Generate and maintain solutions to ensure our fleet's airworthiness in theDefence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR)environment.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Qualifications in aviation engineering or equivalent technical experience in a Structural/Mechanical discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Aviation);
• Experience in an aviation maintenance environment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
