Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Structural/Mechanical to join the HATS program based at HAMS Albatross, Nowra, NSW. You will provide sustainment engineering support to the EC-135 helicopter fleet, helping deliver training for Australian Army and Navy pilots and aircrew.

The role requires knowledge of aviation engineering and maintenance environments, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a focus on airworthiness within a DASR-compliant framework.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in aviation engineering or equivalent technical experience in a Structural/Mechanical discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Aviation)
  • Experience in an aviation maintenance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative, multi-disciplined team environment to support the continuing airworthiness of the HATS EC-135 helicopter fleet
  • Respond to technical queries raised by maintenance and support staff
  • Conduct technical analysis, flight safety reviews, investigations, and develop modifications and repairs related to aircraft structural, mechanical, and propulsion systems
  • Analyse structural and engine data in support of the structural integrity program
  • Interpret Technical Information (TI) and generate required engineering outputs
  • Conduct technical investigations
  • Assess and amend aviation publications and instructions
  • Generate and maintain solutions to ensure our fleet's airworthiness in the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment

About The Role

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world for the Australian Defence Force. We are seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Structural/Mechanical to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program based at HAMS Albatross, Nowra, NSW. In this role, you will provide sustainment engineering support to the EC-135 helicopter fleet, helping deliver the mission of training Australian Army and Navy pilots and aircrew. The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge and understanding of the Australian Defence Force rotary wing environment, structure, and capability.

Responsibilities

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in aviation engineering or equivalent technical experience in a Structural/Mechanical discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Aviation);
  • Experience in an aviation maintenance environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
