Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System program at Oakey, Queensland. You will perform maintenance, inspections, and fault-finding on aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with DASR Part 145 MOE and QA procedures.

You will collaborate with MRO teams, customers and industry partners to ensure mission readiness, documentation accuracy and safety. Travel to support sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have Aircraft Maintenance experience and be able to service, inspect and fault-find on aircraft systems.
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills required or equivalent qualification.
• Australian citizenship required to meet defence security requirements.
• Hold a current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing and inspections on helicopter aircraft systems.
• Carry out modifications and fault-finding in accordance with MOE and DASR Part 145.
• Coordinate with MRO team and customers to ensure timely task completion.
• Maintain thorough documentation and QA procedures.
• Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety standards.

The Opportunity

Join our team at BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Capability as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

We're looking for a skilled, driven individual to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) program at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, Queensland, to help keep these aircraft mission ready. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you'll be hands‑on with maintenance, modifications, servicing, inspections, testing and fault‑finding on aircraft systems. You will be:

• Collaborating with the MRO team to ensure efficient task completion,
• Ensuring compliance within the DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) regulations.
• Fostering effective communication and coordination with Boeing, customers, and industry teams
• Ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance/modification operating procedures, and meticulous documentation practices.
• Embrace a positive attitude towards Environmental Health & Safety, prioritizing the well‑being of all personnel.

What you will bring to BDA

As an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Aeroskills ( Mechanical)
• Be an Australian Citizen to meet Defence security requirements
• Hold a current driver's licence.

Desirable

• Previous experience working with Military aircraft.
• Hold a CASA or DASA Maintenance Licence

This role may require travel and periods working away from home. It's a great chance to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while carrying out the duties of the role
