Job summary

PCR Services in Sydney is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join a high-performing team near the CBD. You will work on diverse projects across multi-storey residential, commercial and industrial structures.

You will be mentored by award-winning senior engineers and gain exposure from concept through construction, with increasing responsibility and opportunities to lead design delivery.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years structural engineering experience in an Australian consultancy.
• Experience with multi-storey residential, commercial and/or industrial structures.
• Strong grounding in design and analysis of structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design calculations.
• Prepare design documentation and drawings.
• Coordinate with architects and other consultants.
• Undertake site inspections and monitor construction progress.

Ideally, you’ll have around 3-5 years’ structural engineering experience within an Australian consultancy and already have a good grounding in the design of multi-storey residential, commercial and/or industrial structures.

But we’re not looking for the finished product. We’re looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional structural engineer.

You’ll be involved in structural analysis and design, calculations, design documentation, coordination with architects and other consultants, site inspections and increasingly direct involvement in project delivery.

As your experience develops, so will your responsibility. You’ll start taking greater ownership of designs, dealing directly with architects and clients, solving more complex engineering problems and ultimately developing towards Senior Structural Engineer and beyond.

Rather than being left to work things out for yourself, you’ll have access to highly experienced senior engineers who can challenge your thinking, explain why a particular structural solution works and help develop the engineering judgement that can’t simply be learnt from software or textbooks.
