Job summary

PCR Talent is recruiting for a Sydney-based Structural Engineer to join a leading consultancy in the CBD. You will work with award-winning senior engineers on major building projects and gain exposure across commercial, residential and industrial schemes.

You’ll engage in structural analysis, design calculations, documentation and coordination with architects and other consultants, with mentoring to develop your engineering judgement and project delivery skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of structural engineering experience in an Australian consultancy
• Strong grounding in design of multi-storey residential, commercial and/or industrial structures
• Willingness to learn and grow under mentoring

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design, calculations and design documentation
• Coordinate with architects and other consulting disciplines
• Conduct site inspections and contribute to project delivery
• Develop engineering judgement through hands-on mentoring and senior guidance

Ideally, you'll have around 3-5 years' structural engineering experience within an Australian consultancy and already have a good grounding in the design of multi-storey residential, commercial and/or industrial structures.

But we're not looking for the finished product. We're looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional structural engineer.

You'll be involved in structural analysis and design, calculations, design documentation, coordination with architects and other consultants, site inspections and increasingly direct involvement in project delivery.

As your experience develops, so will your responsibility. You'll start taking greater ownership of designs, dealing directly with architects and clients, solving more complex engineering problems and ultimately developing towards Senior Structural Engineer and beyond.

Rather than being left to work things out for yourself, you'll have access to highly experienced senior engineers who can challenge your thinking, explain why a particular structural solution works and help develop the engineering judgement that can't simply be learnt from software or textbooks.
