Job description

Join our team at SGP Consulting Engineers as our new Structural Engineer or Draftsperson. This full-time position is based in Bendigo, VIC, where you'll play a key role in designing and delivering structural engineering projects for our clients. This exciting opportunity will give you plenty of exposure to a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.

What you'll be doing

Preparing detailed structural engineering designs, including calculations, drawings, and specifications for commercial and residential projects

Design and detailing for reinforced concrete works in precast and pre-stressed concrete

Collaborating with project managers, architects, building designers, councils, contractors, fabricators and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet requirements

Producing high-quality technical documentation and reports

Staying up-to-date with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practice

What we're looking for

Solid experience and proficiency in CAD is essential, and qualifications will be highly regarded

Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred but not required.

Experience in a similar role, preferably within the building/civil/structural engineering industry

Our office currently uses AutoCAD 2017 and Civil 3D

Strong technical design and problem-solving skills

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to "right first time" philosophy

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet customer time expectations, manage priorities and deliver under pressure

Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and building codes
