Job summary

Hatch in Sydney seeks a Structural Engineer with 4–10 years of experience to join the growing structural team. You will contribute to design and delivery of structural steel and reinforced concrete across mining, energy and infrastructure projects in Australia.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, apply advanced engineering principles, and ensure designs meet AS standards, client specifications and safety in design practices. Chartered status is desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 4–10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Experience with engineering software for structural analysis and design; knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 1170).
• Chartered status or progress towards registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural designs from feasibility to detailed design and construction support.
• Undertake structural analysis for steel, reinforced concrete, conveyors, and industrial structures.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and scopes of work.
• Conduct site inspections and structural investigations; participate in design reviews and safety-in-design workshops.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical and process engineers to develop integrated designs.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy and compliance; assist in estimating engineering effort and schedules.
