Job summary

GHD Group seeks a Senior/Intermediate Structural Engineer to lead buildings design projects in NSW/ACT, based in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra or Wollongong. You will join a multidisciplinary team, delivering complex projects with a focus on quality, collaboration and client value.

Bring 5–15 years’ experience in building design within a consulting environment, a Civil/Structural degree, and a strong knowledge of Australian Building Codes. Mentoring and career development are supported.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• 5–15 years’ industry experience as a Structural Engineer in building design projects.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.

• Leading and supporting structural design projects for buildings, including inspections, assessments and reporting.
• Collaborating with architects, project managers, building services and civil engineers in multidisciplinary teams.

Based in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra or Wollongong, you’ll bring specialist experience in Buildings Engineering at Senior or Intermediate level and join our Design and Building Engineering group for NSW/ACT.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on building projects across NSW and ACT, while working as part of our collaborative and supportive multi-disciplinary global team.

The role offers significant potential for professional development, including mentoring junior staff and benefiting from guidance provided by our Technical Directors.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Leading and supporting structural design projects for buildings, along with inspections, assessments, and reporting.
• Working collaboratively with architects, project managers, building services and civil engineers in multidisciplinary teams delivering iconic projects.
• Providing clients with expert technical guidance and strategic advice, while developing and maintaining strong and supportive client relationships
• Project management and leading project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Ongoing career development opportunities in a vibrant and collaborative workplace culture.

What you will bring to the team:

• A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Between 5 and 15 years’ industry experience as a Structural Engineer, with specific depth of experience in building design projects in a consulting environment.
• Experience utilising a broad range of skills across various types of buildings and materials.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
• Existing security clearance or Ability to hold a security clearance for project specific work is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions and mentoring others.
