Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the NSW/ACT Design and Building Engineering group. Based in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra or Wollongong, you will lead structural design projects for buildings, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior staff in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Between 5 and 15 years’ industry experience as a Structural Engineer, with depth in building design projects in a consulting environment.
• Experience across various building types and materials.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
• Existing security clearance or ability to hold a clearance for project work is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting structural design projects for buildings, including inspections, assessments, and reporting.
• Collaborating with architects, project managers, building services and civil engineers in multidisciplinary teams delivering iconic projects.
• Providing clients with expert technical guidance and strategic advice, while developing and maintaining relationships.

What you will bring to the team:

• A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Between 5 and 15 years’ industry experience as a Structural Engineer, with specific depth of experience in building design projects in a consulting environment.
• Experience utilising a broad range of skills across various types of buildings and materials.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
• Existing security clearance or Ability to hold a security clearance for project specific work is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions and mentoring others.
