Job summary

Vivid Recruitment is partnering with a global engineering consultancy to hire structural engineers in Sydney at intermediate and senior levels. You’ll work on data centre and high‑rise projects, delivering technically challenging structures with real scale and complexity.

You’ll design and analyse, producing calculations and reports, and coordinating with drafters, architects and clients to deliver precise drawings. Senior engineers lead projects, mentor juniors and nurture client relationships.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years local structural engineering experience for intermediate level
• 6+ years local structural engineering experience for senior level, with project leadership
• Permanent work rights in Australia
• Experience on data centres or high-rise / large commercial projects preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Structural design across projects focusing on data centres and high‑rise buildings
• Produce calculations, design reports, and coordinate with drafters to deliver accurate drawings
• Coordinate with architects, other disciplines, and clients during the design process
• Support projects through construction with site inspections
• Senior candidates lead projects, mentor juniors, and build client relationships

Education

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Our Client

Vivid Recruitment is currently recruiting Structural Engineers at both intermediate and senior level for a global engineering consultancy's Sydney team. Despite its international reach, this business has the feel of a smaller firm, where you'll know the people you work with and your contribution is noticed. The Sydney team is busy delivering a strong mix of data centre and high-rise projects, giving you the chance to work on technically challenging structures with real scale and complexity.

The Role

• Structural design and analysis across a range of projects, with a focus on data centres and high-rise buildings
• Producing calculations, design reports and documentation, and working closely with drafters and modellers to deliver accurate drawings
• Coordinating with architects, other engineering disciplines and clients throughout the design process
• Undertaking site inspections and supporting projects through construction
• For senior candidates, leading projects, mentoring junior engineers and building strong client relationships

About You

• Intermediate: 2 to 5 years of local structural engineering experience
• Senior: 6+ years of local structural engineering experience, ideally with project leadership
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• MUST BE LOCATED IN AUSTRALIA
• Permanent work rights in Australia
• Experience on data centres, high-rise or large commercial projects is highly regarded
• Confident using structural analysis software such as Spacegass, ETABS or RAPT
• CPEng, or working towards it, is a plus
• Clear communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
