Job summary

CC Pines is seeking a Structural Engineer to own the structural design, coordination and delivery for our Darwin project. You can base in Darwin full-time or Sydney with regular travel to Darwin, owning the scope end-to-end and collaborating with the PM and site team.

You'll manage concrete, blockwork and brickwork through design and construction, ensure compliance with Australian standards, and drive quality and on-time delivery with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Structural Engineer with design and construction experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of concrete, blockwork and brickwork.
• Experience on commercial, infrastructure or government projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design from concept to as-built for the Darwin project.
• Oversee concrete, blockwork and brickwork to ensure quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, site team and subcontractors to keep on schedule.
• Review and approve drawings, specs and submissions.
• Inspect on-site, troubleshoot issues and support construction to completion.
• Identify risks early and develop practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards and project requirements.
• Report progress and technical updates to the Project Manager.

CC Pines is looking for a Structural Engineer to take ownership of the structural scope on our Darwin project. We're open to how this works: based in Darwin full-time is our preference, but we'll also consider a Sydney based arrangement, with a week on-site in Darwin every 4-6 weeks to stay close to the work.

A Bit About Darwin

The Role

As Structural Engineer, you'll take ownership of the structural design, coordination and delivery for our Darwin project, working closely with the Project Manager and site team to make sure the structural scope is safe, compliant and delivered on program. Whether you're on-site full-time or visiting on a set rhythm, you'll be the go-to structural voice on this project.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading structural design and engineering for the Darwin project, from concept through to as-built
• Overseeing structural works involving concrete, blockwork and brickwork, with a genuine eye for quality and compliance
• Coordinating with the Project Manager, site team and subcontractors to keep structural works on program and on spec
• Reviewing and approving structural drawings, specifications and contractor submissions
• Inspecting works on-site, troubleshooting issues and supporting construction through to completion
• Identifying risks early and working through practical solutions
• Ensuring structural works meet relevant Australian standards and project compliance requirements
• Reporting progress and technical updates to the Project Manager and wider project team

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified Structural Engineer, with experience across design, construction, or a mix of both
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of concrete, blockwork and brickwork construction
• Experience on commercial, infrastructure or government construction projects
• Comfortable working closely with site teams and subcontractors to get the detail right
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the flexibility to adapt when site conditions don't go to plan
• Solid communication skills, both technical and plain English, for working with a range of stakeholders
• If Darwin based: willing to relocate for the role. If Sydney based: willing and able to travel to Darwin every 4-6 weeks for a week at a time
