Job summary

EDGE Consulting Engineers in Canberra is seeking a high-calibre Structural Engineer (3–6 years) to join our Canberra team, delivering structural design across commercial and multi-residential projects. This role offers ownership, exposure, and progression beyond production work.

Based in our Canberra office, you’ll work with senior engineers on a steady pipeline of commercial developments, contributing to design from concept to detailed drawings and QA, with mentoring and clear career paths.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years’ experience in Australian structural consulting.
• Strong exposure to commercial structural design.
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions across commercial projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations and analysis.
• Contribute to concept through to detailed design.
• Produce clear, buildable documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, builders, and internal teams.
• Support drafting teams in delivering construction drawings.
• Attend site and respond to real-world construction challenges.
• Engage in design reviews and QA processes.

The Role

Based in our Canberra office, where you’ll work closely with senior engineers delivering structural solutions across a strong pipeline of commercial and development projects.

You’ll be trusted to contribute meaningfully- not just design and disappear.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver structural design solutions across commercial projects

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• 3–6 years’ experience in Australian structural consulting
• Strong exposure to commercial structural design
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards
• Experience with Concrete and Steel Structures and basement shoring design is an advantage
• Experience with tools such as SpaceGass, ETABS, RAM Concept
