Job summary

WSP Perth is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Building Structures team on Defence and national projects. You will lead design, delivery and tender work across multi-year packages, ensuring quality and on-time delivery in line with schedules and budgets.

You will work within a collaborative national team, providing technical guidance, managing client relationships, and developing your skills across a diverse project portfolio while enjoying hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor to Masters’ level degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 5-8 years industry experience on building projects within Australia.
• Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence full security clearance is essential – only eligible to Australian Citizens.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged turnkey projects.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of project and structural engineering work to standards, schedules and budgets.
• Maintain effective relationships with local clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical/delivery guidance within a multidisciplinary national team.

Our WSP Building Structures group is a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in each major city across Australia.

What you’ll do:

• Work on iconic projects.
• Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects.
• Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets.
• Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients.
• Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
• Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

About You

• Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil/Structural Engineering)
• 5-8 years industry experience on building projects within Australia, in the commercial, retail, defence, health or education sectors.
• Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence full security clearance is essential – only eligible to Australian Citizens (Permanent Resident, NZ Citizens & Visa holders are not eligible).
• Solid proficiency in all-round structural engineering design including post-tensioned concrete;
• Track record of effective cross-discipline project delivery
• Naturally Curious, Passionate, Adaptable & ready to do the kind of work the world needs
