Job summary

Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts – Sydney NSW is recruiting for APS6 Senior Program Officers across LTID, Budget Policy & Assurance, Infrastructure Reform, and Brisbane 2032 Teams.

You will support financial management, risk, and delivery of major national infrastructure projects, while embedding First Nations perspectives and coordinating with Ministers and state counterparts.

Qualifications

• High-level analytical capability for complex technical documents and financial estimates.
• Proven high-level written communication skills for senior executives.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities with state jurisdictions and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Support management of the financials, risk and delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects.
• Assess, prepare advice and report on Australian Government investments in land transport.
• Provide secretariat support and input to State and Territory program meetings.
• Embed First Nations perspectives into infrastructure policy, program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide briefing material to Ministers, Departmental Executive and central agencies, including for Estimates and Question Time.
