Job summary

Australian Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development is seeking an EL1 Assistant Director / Program Manager in the Land Transport Infrastructure Division to lead major national projects, policy development and governance with senior executives and stakeholders. The role supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements across multiple Australian locations.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or extensive practical experience in public policy, project management, financial/data analysis, commerce, legal frameworks, or engineering/infrastructure delivery is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience with risk management and governance for large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Ability to work across multiple branches and collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the financials, risk and delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects.
• Provide policy advice and formulate strategy for land transport infrastructure investments and governance.
• Coordinate and develop biannual infrastructure Investment Cabinet submissions and maintain governance for LTID.
• Embed First Nations perspectives into infrastructure policy, program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Draft and clear complex briefings for Ministers and Central agencies and oversee media materials.
