Job summary

The Department of Transport and Planning in Victoria is seeking a Workplace Relations Advisor for an ongoing Melbourne CBD role. You will provide sound advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters, including performance, conduct, probation and Reviews of Actions, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and industrial agreements.

You will act as Grievance Registrar, build relationships with People & Culture, managers, employees, senior executives and unions, and support

Qualifications

• Workplace relations and HR expertise, including performance management and enterprise agreement interpretation.
• Sound judgement to employee matters, legislation, policies and industrial requirements.
• Understands the VPS Review of Actions policy and process.
• Remains calm and professional when managing sensitive issues and competing priorities.
• Communicates and negotiates effectively with leaders, employees and key stakeholders.
• Works collaboratively, adapts to changing priorities and identifies opportunities to improve processes and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters.
• Manage employee relations cases, including performance, conduct, probation and Reviews of Actions.
• Act as Grievance Registrar for the Department.
• Build strong relationships with People & Culture, managers, employees, senior executives and unions.
• Support organisational change and restructures; assist with reporting and administration.
• Take on other duties as assigned in line with role capabilities.
