Job summary

Amazon Australia is launching a new category management function in Sydney and is seeking a commercially driven Vendor Manager to shape our category offer from day one. You will own end-to-end vendor relationships across multiple categories, drive commercial negotiations, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver quality, availability and value for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience.
• 3+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience.
• Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end vendor relationships across one or more categories, including sourcing, range selection, commercial negotiations, contract management, and ongoing performance management.
• Build and manage a high-quality supplier base, identifying and onboarding vendors that meet Amazon's standards for quality, reliability, and commercial viability.
• Negotiate trading terms, pricing, promotional programmes, and supply agreements that deliver strong customer value and meet Amazon's financial targets.
• Partner with Vendor, Instock, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve supply constraints, improve product availability, and deliver cross-functional outcomes that benefit customers.
• Analyse category and vendor performance data to identify opportunities, address underperformance, and continuously improve the commercial and operational health of your categories.
• Represent Amazon externally as a credible and trusted commercial partner, building long-term supplier relationships that support the growth of the business.
