Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Senior Mine Planner for Copper SA Operations in Adelaide, Australia. The role focuses on medium-term mine planning and infrastructure to support the asset strategy, with oversight of safety, cost, and production alignment on the 2–8 year horizon.

Based on a 5:2 roster with occasional site travel to operating mine sites, the position enables collaboration across technical and operational teams, governance through projects, and the adoption of improved planning practices.

Qualifications

• Mining Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in underground mine planning and operations.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence others and document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Model mine plans and infrastructure demand over the 2–8 year horizon.
• Justify capital spend and optimise for capital efficiency.
• Coach personnel across technical and project teams.
• Support the integration and optimisation of Copper SA planning.
• Lead 5YP/LoA planning with attention to safety, schedule, costs.
• Support long-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Introduce new technologies and ways of working to improve safety and productivity.
• Provide technical support for major mine planning projects and studies.
• Develop scopes of work to engage external stakeholders as needed.
• Manage project packages of work to support studies.
• Coordinate between stakeholders to deliver an integrated mine plan.
• Integrate planning and scheduling software to support operations.
