Job summary

Prominent Hill, part of BHP, is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to contribute to the safe, efficient extraction and ore recovery at a first‑class copper‑gold operation in South Australia. You will collaborate with the Technical Services and Operations teams to translate strategy into executable mine plans and develop practical designs for long‑term mine life.

You will work within a safety‑focused culture on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with opportunities to advance into Mine Planning,

Qualifications

• Experience in mine planning and design.
• Strong collaboration with operations and technical services.
• Proficiency with planning tools and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design stopes and extraction sequences to maximise safety, productivity and ore recovery.
• Support short, medium and long-term planning processes through the delivery of practical mine designs
• Opportunities to grow your technical and operational skills
• Using industry‑leading planning tools to support operational excellence
• Have a strong pathway into Mine Planning, Production or Operations Leadership
