Job summary

Inner West Council seeks a Senior Manager - Traffic and Transport Planning to lead transport planning, traffic engineering, and road-related approvals across a dynamic urban council area.

You will shape sustainable transport outcomes, oversee a multidisciplinary team, manage budgets and contracts, and engage with government agencies, industry partners and the community to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification OR significant equivalent industry experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, civil engineering or development engineering.
• Demonstrated comprehensive experience in strategic transport planning and delivery of transport, traffic and parking related infrastructure solutions in a complex urban environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop a team to achieve outcomes for the council.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary team.
• Shape sustainable transport outcomes and influence major infrastructure projects.
• Lead delivery of active transport, road safety, parking strategies and stakeholder engagement.
