The Opportunity

This is a newly created role to shape and grow our strategic partnerships with local government while unlocking new opportunities across our Resource Recovery and Post Collections portfolio.

You’ll be at the forefront of our council relationships—building trusted partnerships, connecting with key decision-makers and navigating complex stakeholder environments. From leading tender and procurement opportunities to identifying new avenues for growth, you’ll play an important role in strengthening our position with local government customers.

It’s a role that brings together relationship management and business development: nurturing and growing our existing council partnerships while proactively building a strong pipeline of new opportunities.

What you’ll be doing
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with local government and council customers.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans and confidently manage relationships with senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop new Resource Recovery opportunities while maintaining a strong commercial pipeline.
  • Lead and coordinate complex council tender, procurement and contract management processes.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop commercially sound customer solutions.
  • Analyse commercial information, tender documentation and data to support effective decision-making.
  • Support customer and community engagement initiatives, including site tours, environmental days and presentations.
About you

We’re looking for a commercially minded relationship professional who is confident operating in complex stakeholder environments and engaging with senior stakeholders.

You don’t necessarily need to come from the waste or resource recovery industry; however, experience working with local government, councils or government customers will be highly regarded.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic customer, stakeholder or commercial relationships.
  • Experience working with local government, councils or government customers.
  • Strong experience across tender, procurement and contract management processes.
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse information and making sound decisions.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, develop new business and manage a commercial pipeline.
  • Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience using tender platforms and business tools such as Power BI, PowerPoint and ERP systems would be advantageous.
