Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Sydney seeks a Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end delivery of medium to large high‑voltage projects. You will coordinate engineering, supply chain, overseas factories and site teams to meet scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety targets.

The role requires a degree in engineering and extensive HV project experience, with strong commercial and contractual acumen and demonstrated multi‑location coordination capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive project management experience in high‑voltage electrical markets with delivery of complex projects.
• Proven capability managing scope, schedule, cost, resources, suppliers and subcontractors from handover to completion.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage equipment and substations; GIS experience is highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of HV drawings, IEC and Australian standards.
• Strong commercial and contractual capability including contract reviews, risk management, variations and claims.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across local and international locations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle from sales handover to close‑out.
• Lead scope, schedule, cost, resources and deliverables with proactive issue mitigation.
• Monitor financial performance: revenue, invoicing, cost, cash flow and forecasts.
• Identify risks and opportunities; implement mitigation and contingencies.
• Manage contracts, changes and approvals for scope, time and cost impact.
• Maintain primary customer relationships and clear communication with stakeholders.
• Coordinate engineering, supply chain, suppliers and site activities, including FAT.
