Job summary

Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contract Specialist to provide strategic procurement and contract management across Council’s programs. Reporting to the Manager Procurement and Contracts, you will lead high-value procurement activities and manage supplier relationships to achieve value for money and governance.

The role offers a permanent, full-time, 35-hour week with hybrid work, on-site parking and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain or related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
• 5–10 years’ experience in strategic procurement and contract management, preferably in local government or regulated environments.
• Experience leading RFQ, RFT and EOI processes and managing contracts and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic, high-value procurement activities, including RFQ, RFT and EOI.
• Manage end-to-end procurement, planning, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation and implementation.
• Provide specialist procurement, commercial and contract management advice to managers and project teams.
• Establish and manage corporate contracts, supplier panels and standing offers.
• Monitor performance, compliance and commercial risks; drive value for money.
