Job summary

City of Canterbury-Bankstown seeks two Strategic Procurement and Contracts Leads to oversee high‑value procurement and contract management across the Council. You will provide expert advice to senior stakeholders and project teams, shaping commercial outcomes and risk management.

You will develop procurement strategies, govern contract management frameworks, and coach teams to strengthen governance, supplier performance, and value for money across diverse services.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic procurement within complex or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead high-value, high-risk procurement activities and major contracts.
• Strong governance, risk management and supplier performance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic procurement across high-value, high-risk contracts.
• Develop and implement contract management framework and governance.
• Provide specialist advice on major contracts including negotiation and risk allocation.
• Establish procurement panels and drive value-for-money outcomes.
• Strengthen contract governance and oversee supplier performance and variations.
• Partner with project managers to develop procurement strategies and mitigate risk.
• Contribute to policy and framework improvements across Council procurement.
