Job summary

Federal Group in Hobart is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to develop and manage category strategies across technology and related supplier portfolios. You will partner with Technology Services, project teams and business stakeholders to drive value through strategic sourcing and effective supplier management.

You will lead tender processes, evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts and monitor agreements to reduce costs while aligning with organisational policies and objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement and contract management across complex portfolios.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience managing procurement activities from planning through to implementation.
• Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Business, Commerce or related discipline is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support procurement initiatives, develop sourcing strategies and deliver improved commercial outcomes.
• Manage tender processes, evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts with strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor existing agreements, review supplier performance and identify efficiency/cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement activities are transparent, commercially sound and aligned with policies and objectives.
