Job summary

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Policy Officer to support a Federal Government agency based in Deakin, ACT. You will contribute to significant policy reform activities, provide strategic policy advice, analysis and recommendations, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality policy papers and briefs.

In this role you will lead consultation, manage complex issues with sound judgment, and help implement projects aligned with reform priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in policy development, analysis and implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prepare high-quality government-style documentation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience working in government or policy-focused environments.
• Strategic policy experience.
• Experience supporting reform programs and complex initiatives.
• Understanding of legislation, governance or procurement frameworks.
• Knowledge of the disability sector is advantageous.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Australian Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check.
