Job summary

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Policy Officer to support a Federal Government agency based in Deakin, ACT. The role focuses on policy reform, analytical advice, and delivering high-quality government documentation in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop policy, analyse issues, and contribute to reform initiatives. Australian Citizenship is required, with eligibility for security checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in policy development, analysis, and implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare government-style documentation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement policy, strategies, and projects aligned with reform priorities.
• Conduct detailed policy analysis and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Prepare high-quality policy papers, briefings, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Support and lead consultation and engagement activities.
• Analyse data and technical information to inform decision-making.
• Contribute to project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage sensitive and complex issues while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
