Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council invites applications for a Coordinator Strategic Planning and Policy. The role leads a team responsible for statutory planning policy, planning proposals, heritage planning, and local infrastructure contributions, shaping growth while preserving the Shire’s character.

You will oversee policy framework reviews, LEP and DCP updates, and provide strategic advice to management and government bodies, ensuring timely, evidence-based outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in strategic land use planning, local environmental plans, development control plans, developer contributions planning, heritage planning and relevant environmental planning legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for Council’s statutory planning policy, planning proposals, heritage planning program and local infrastructure contributions.
• Oversee review and improvement of planning controls and policy framework including LEP and DCP updates.
• Provide strategic advice, submissions and policy responses impacting the Shire’s future.
• Collaborate with government, industry and community to deliver evidence-based planning outcomes.
