Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a seasoned Coordinator Strategic Planning and Policy to lead the statutory planning policy team and manage planning proposals, heritage planning, and contributions programs. This role shapes how the Shire grows while protecting its character and heritage across the Southern Highlands.

You will oversee policy framework reviews, LEP and DCP updates, and provide strategic advice to executives, collaborating with government, industry and community to deliver

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or urban planning or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in strategic land use planning and development control.
• 5+ years in a senior strategic planning or planning policy role in local government.
• Experience preparing complex reports, submissions and policy responses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for statutory planning policy, planning proposals, heritage planning and contributions.
• Oversee reviews and updates to planning controls, LEP and DCP.
• Provide strategic advice, submissions and policy responses for the future of the Shire.
