Job summary

Willoughby City Council is seeking a Senior Strategy and Corporate Planning Officer to drive planning, reporting and insights that shape council’s long‑term direction in Sydney’s north. You will lead corporate planning, monitor performance and develop evidence‑based recommendations for executive decision makers.

You will translate research into concise briefs, coordinate annual planning cycles and deliver high‑quality dashboards and strategic documentation that support organisational alignment

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in strategy, business planning, public policy, economics, management, analytics or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the development of corporate plans, organisational strategies or performance frameworks within a complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of organisational planning, performance measurement, governance and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyse information and develop insights that influence decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development, coordination and delivery of corporate and business planning processes, including annual planning cycles, corporate scorecards and strategic reviews.
• Drive the ongoing maturity and continuous improvement of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, including statutory plans, KPIs, reporting processes and performance measurement.
• Develop strategic frameworks, policies and improvement initiatives that strengthen organisational capability.
• Analyse organisational, service and performance information to prepare strategic reports and executive briefings.
• Translate complex research findings into clear narratives for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and engagement activities to support strategy development and alignment.
• Develop planning materials, dashboards, discussion papers and executive reports.
• Support KPI tracking and progress reporting against organisational plans.
