Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a Strategy and Planning Lead to drive strategic and business planning across Infrastructure Services Group. You will coordinate cycles, lead workshops and translate priorities into measurable actions, with a focus on governance and performance outcomes.

You will support executives, facilitate discussions, monitor progress and promote continuous improvement, collaboration across the council, and delivering meaningful community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading strategic planning initiatives.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Experience working with executive stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
• Strong understanding of strategy management, governance, organisational performance and continuous improvement principles.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Experience facilitating executive planning workshops and strategic reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and business planning activities across Infrastructure Services Group.
• Coordinate planning cycles and support the development of branch and group plans.
• Facilitate strategic planning workshops and leadership discussions.
• Support the development of priorities, performance measures and outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate progress against strategic priorities and plans, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Provide strategic advice on planning, governance, alignment and performance activities.
• Work with Council to deliver organisational outcomes.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and performance excellence.
• Research industry trends and emerging issues to identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide coaching to leaders on planning and organisational performance initiatives.
