Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a Strategy and Planning Lead to guide strategic planning, governance and performance across Infrastructure Services Group. You will work with leaders to align priorities with Council objectives and drive measurable outcomes for Brisbane.

The role requires strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate strategy into practical plans, with a commitment to continuous improvement and an inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading strategic planning and organisational performance initiatives.
• Experience developing strategic, business and operational plans within a complex organisation.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Experience working with executive stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
• Understanding of strategy management, governance and continuous improvement principles.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Experience leading change and building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and business planning activities across Infrastructure Services Group.
• Coordinate planning cycles and support the development of branch and group plans.
• Facilitate strategic planning workshops and leadership discussions.
• Support the development of priorities, performance measures and organisational outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate progress against strategic priorities and business plans, identifying risks, opportunities and emerging issues.
• Provide strategic advice on planning, governance, alignment and performance activities.
• Work collaboratively across Council to deliver organisational outcomes.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and performance excellence.
• Research, analyse, monitor and evaluate industry trends, government activities and emerging issues to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Provide strategic advice and coaching to leaders on planning, alignment and organisational performance initiatives.
