Job summary

Sydney Anglicans seeks an experienced Director of Media and Communications to lead the Diocese’s media function and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with our mission. You will oversee content development, provide strategic counsel, support public relations, and ensure brand consistency across the Diocese.

You will lead a team of communications professionals, collaborate with senior diocesan leaders, and drive digital growth while managing budgets and external partners.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in media, communications, PR, journalism or related field.
• Proven track record developing and implementing organisation-wide communications strategies.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of digital media, social platforms and content strategy.
• Experience using data/analytics to optimise communications outcomes.
• Proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.

• Develop and implement a Diocese-wide media and communications strategy.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of content creators and professionals.
• Strengthen the Diocese’s public profile and reputation through PR and communications.
• Collaborate with Archbishop’s Office and diocesan leaders on initiatives.

• Manage budgets, resources, and external agencies.
• Foster collaboration across diocesan communications teams.
