Job summary

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced Material Planner / Buyer / Purchasing Officer for a global manufacturing organisation based in Sunshine, Victoria. Immediate start through to 19 September 2027 with potential extension.

You will balance material supply with production demand, manage supplier performance, and optimise inventory in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role offers a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, with a competitive hourly rate and 12% super.

Qualifications

• Experience in Material Planning, Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning or Inventory Management.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial or large-scale supply chain environments.
• Strong knowledge of materials planning systems, MRP/ERP systems and advanced planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site's material planning activities based on operational requirements
• Maintain accuracy of supplier schedules and commitments
• Monitor and manage planning exceptions generated through advanced planning systems
• Balance supplier capabilities with production and operational needs
• Assess the impact of supplier commitments on production and build schedules
• Support constrained supply allocation processes
• Generate, validate and analyse supplier scorecards
• Proactively manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Escalate potential supply interruptions and risks before production impact occurs
• Partner with demand and supply planning teams to manage changing volume and product mix requirements
• Support inventory optimisation and inventory repositioning activities
• Analyse, interpret and improve supply chain KPIs and performance metrics
• Participate in engineering change and part change control processes
