Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Library & Community Services to provide leadership across library, community development and cultural services.

Reporting to the Director, Corporate & Community, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee a diverse portfolio aligned with community needs and Council priorities. This role offers a vehicle allowance and 10 extra days of special leave in a Manager Agreement.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and strategic planning experience in library/community services.
• Strong financial and operational acumen with budget management experience.
• Ability to drive change, service improvements and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across Library & Community Services to align with Council priorities.
• Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary team with a focus on performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee delivery of library services, community development initiatives and engagement programs.
• Develop and implement strategic/operational plans, policies and procedures.
• Manage departmental budgets and resources to ensure sustainable service delivery.
• Drive service improvements and innovation in customer experience.
