Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council seeks an experienced Manager Planning & Environment to lead the Infrastructure and Environment team. The role focuses on planning, environmental health, regulatory services, and waste management, delivering high-quality services to the community.

The role provides strategic leadership, manages budgets and staff, and ensures compliance with statutory obligations. A relevant tertiary qualification and senior local government experience are required.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in planning, environmental health, regulatory services or related local government.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policies and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Council's planning, development assessment, environmental health, local laws, regulatory compliance and waste functions.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership, manage employees and budgets, ensure statutory obligations and service standards.
• Coordinate local disaster management functions and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships across a multidisciplinary team and with government, industry and community.
