Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an experienced Manager Planning & Environment to join the Infrastructure and Environment team. This senior role leads planning, environmental health, local laws and regulatory services, directs a multidisciplinary team, and ensures high-quality community outcomes.

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Environment, the role provides strategic direction, manages staff and budgets, and coordinates local disaster management functions in line with statutory

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in local government or similar bodies.
• Strong knowledge of planning, environmental health, local laws and waste management.
• Proven ability to apply legislation and policy to regulatory decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for planning, development assessment, environmental health, local laws and waste.
• Oversee budgets and manage multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Ensure statutory obligations and service standards are met and coordinate disaster management.
