Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council in north-west Queensland is seeking a Director of Infrastructure & Environment to lead a large directorate of about 44 staff, guiding strategic and operational delivery of essential infrastructure and environmental services.

Reporting to the CEO, you will drive asset management, risk, and workforce capability while overseeing major projects such as airport and water treatment plant upgrades, shaping the council's future and regional lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Contemporary and collaborative infrastructure leader with a track record of delivering results in complex operational environments.
• Experience in local government in Australia or NZ with strategic planning and asset management.
• Ability to build relationships, develop high-performing teams and advise executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational management of a large directorate (~44 staff).
• Oversee delivery of essential infrastructure and environmental services with risk management focus.
