Job summary

Danone ANZ is seeking an experienced ANZ Lead Category Manager for Raw Materials & Packaging to drive resilient sourcing for our dairy and related products. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will lead a team of buyers, translate global strategies into local execution, and strengthen supplier partnerships to support our manufacturing network.

You will shape procurement strategies, negotiate key contracts, and deliver value through innovative sourcing and risk management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business preferred.
At least 3 years’ experience in direct procurement.
Strong negotiation, relationship management and communication skills.
Solid project management, planning and organisational capability.
Intermediate Excel skills; knowledge of SAP, Asana and AI tools preferred.
Experience with Power BI is an advantage.
Willingness to travel occasionally to New Zealand and other parts of Australia.

Responsibilities

Lead local sourcing strategies for ingredients and packaging, aligned with global and regional direction.
Safeguard continuity of supply through secure sourcing, dual sourcing and effective risk mitigation.
Negotiate contracts and pricing for dairy ingredients and liquid milk, driving value and policy compliance.
Manage supplier performance, relationships, quality actions and contractual obligations.
Lead the sourcing workstream for innovation, renovation, productivity and third-party manufacturing projects.
Provide market intelligence and price forecasts to support rolling forecasts and annual planning.
Lead and develop three direct reports, setting clear priorities and enabling strong category and supplier management.
