Job summary

ACT Government seeks an Assistant Director in Infrastructure Planning and Modelling to lead high‑level outputs in transport modelling and data provision. You will provide expert analysis to support infrastructure planning, development approvals, and road policy decisions, drawing on the Canberra Strategic Transport Model and related tools.

The role requires a qualification in engineering or related fields, with five years’ experience in transport planning or related disciplines, and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in transport planning/civil engineering/traffic engineering and/or related disciplines with a minimum of five years’ experience.
• Significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
• Relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture and Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or a relevant building degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level outputs and analysis on technical traffic/transport modelling approaches and data provision.
• Offer technical advice on interpretation and implications of transport and traffic modelling results for planning, development approvals and policy decisions.
• Support the Canberra Strategic Transport Model and related analytical tools.
• Translate data and modelling into strategic policy, planning and investment advice for government decision-makers.
