Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is recruiting an Industrial Relations Manager to join the AUKUS team in Australia. You will lead IR strategies, manage stakeholder engagement, and ensure governance and compliance across major defence infrastructure projects.

Applicants must be Australian citizens with NV1-level clearance eligibility. The role emphasizes risk mitigation, workforce mobilisation planning, and strong collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver outcomes on complex engineering

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Industrial Relations within project-based engineering or construction environments.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Australian citizenship and NV1 level clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Industrial Relations strategies, including stakeholder engagement, governance reporting, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying, managing, and mitigating industrial relations risks across project and business operations.
  • Prepare governance reports and provide insights to support informed industrial relations decision-making.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support industrial relations outcomes.
  • Contribute to the planning of workforce mobilisation activities to meet project and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative obligations including the Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
