Job summary

Laing O’Rourke in Australia is seeking a Construction Accommodation Strategy Manager to join the ANI defence infrastructure program. You will lead workforce accommodation planning, camp strategy development and regional capacity planning to support project workforce needs.

You will build relationships with accommodation providers and key stakeholders to secure housing solutions and align accommodation initiatives with demand forecasts and project delivery timelines.

  • Experience mobilisation and accommodation management on large-scale projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple priorities with tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead workforce accommodation planning, camp strategy development, and regional capacity planning to support project workforce requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with accommodation providers, housing markets, and key regional stakeholders to secure workforce housing solutions.
  • Develop and implement accommodation strategies that enable effective workforce mobilisation and project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure accommodation and camp solutions align with workforce demand forecasts.
  • Support workforce attraction and retention outcomes through the delivery of sustainable and fit-for-purpose accommodation strategies.
  • Provide strategic advice and reporting on accommodation, camp, and housing-related risks that may impact project cost, schedule, or workforce availability.
About you
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in mobilisation, accommodation management, camp operations, or large-scale infrastructure, resources, defence, or construction projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing workforce accommodation and mobilisation strategies in complex project environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong project coordination and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of reports, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
